The Forbes hall hosts an outstanding amateur opera "A Country Girl" where J Sandegren designed scenery to the highest standard, Mrs Britz produced forty costumes, and an skilled orchestra earned high praise from Dr M Don nell and Stanley M'Kay's touring manager Mr Ferry, who called it the best amateur performance seen.
