Gas price reduction urged by council manager report
At Friday’s council meeting Mr B Jeffrey outlined a six month review of the gas works noting the plant’s high output potential and current profitability. He proposed staged price cuts for heating, power, and cooking gas to boost consumption, with discounts for early payments and higher volumes, urging council adoption from October. The mayor and aldermen praised the manager’s work and adopted the recommendations.
