Necessity for a Good Diet in Australia
A Nutrition Section bulletin outlines the need for balanced eating to prevent vague health issues from diet insufficiencies. It cites a 1944 survey of 2730 Australian households showing adequate quantity but imbalanced food choices, with calcium and vitamin intake often low and vitamin B1 sometimes short. It urges daily consumption of milk, meat or equivalents, eggs, fruits with vitamin C, vegetables, whole grains, and fortified fats, stressing prevention and a common diet suitable for most Australians.
