In Yorkton district court a sheriff sale is scheduled for September 26 1917 at 2 PM. The property is the northwest quarter of section 25 township unknown range 7 West of the 2nd Meridian. Sold subject to grain liens with 25 percent payable at sale and the balance due within two months on transfer. Henry Christopherson sheriff.
Horace Barnett departed Tuesday evening for Winnipeg to attend school there. Mr and Mrs James Manary returned from a motor trip to Vandura Sask on Sunday. Mrs Robert Cotter and her daughter Frances of Vandura Sask are visiting Mr and Mrs James Mallary.
T. H. Hull departed Sunday for Ryley Alberta to visit his daughter Mrs. Percy Wilde. Miss Pickering J Johnston and D Pickering also spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. Hitchen.
D R McColl returned to Humboldt on Saturday. Visitors noted include Misses Missen Kyolfson and Harry Missen and Bert Burnell. A Virgin’s new barn was erected by Mr and Mrs Chris. John Boyle reported on Sunday tractor work. A J Armour, recently ill, is improving after a town visit with KR Armour. Harvest operations are advancing and threshing is expected to begin next week.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Maxted visited Hans Linwick. Mrs. Burton and Mrs. Donald with son Erskine of Vancouver stayed with Mr. and Mrs. J. Milligan.
C C Snyder of Leslie visited town on Monday. W D Johnstone named new bank teller here. Mrs Brown of Wynyard visited our village this week. A CPR claims adjuster investigated Mr Barnett's accident Monday. Mrs Kershaw is in Winnipeg this week and took Florence to St Boniface college. Paul Turner returned Monday to college after duties at Elfros and Argyle mission. Miss Charlotte Buie, formerly with the local bank staff, died at her father's home in Dauphin Mayenyon Sunday. Cattle trade active. D McPhail Markell Gordon and Ontario buyer shipping this week. Harvest underway amid scarce help. cutting progressing well though rain slowed Saturday and frost has been unusually light this year.
Mrs Sparkes spent the weekend with Miss Milligan. Rev J H James from Regina visited Mrs Swartz in Quill Valley for a few days last week. Mr and Mrs Olson and family were noted in the list of visitors.
Thomas Henry Taylor died Wednesday morning at Yorkton hospital at age 66. Born in Mount Forest Ontario he moved to the West in 1882 settling in Minnedosa with a tinmith and home steading near town. He leaves a widow and four children in Minnedosa a brother George in Foam Lake and the Oddfellows lodge may conduct the funeral.
Harvest operations in Ladstock district show progress and potential good yields. Among cattle shipped last week by Duncan McPhail a steer raised by John Clare was praised as the best in the yard among 2000. Mrs. James Clave learned Sunday her husband is missing, eliciting district sympathy and hope for news.
Sheho Lorre Chappelle visited Saskatoon last week while Mrs. McLennan stayed with her sister Mrs. F K Chappelle. Miss Eunice Sibley, long seriously ill, shows signs of improvement.
