Orloff's advertises a War Economy Sale with all merchandise reduced to a minimum. Savings reach about 50 percent on many items. A large poster highlights record breaking bargains.
The Foam Lake Agricultural Society held a meeting with President Ira Odell in the chair. The minutes and financials were approved. A resolution thanked the secretary of the ladies and children's department for securing prizes, with a note to inform Mrs. Kauffman. Officers were named for the coming year and Odell and J. Reid named delegates to Saskatoon’s January convention.
Mr Hills presided as a large crowd attended the Christmas Eve concert and tree at the Fishing Lake post office. Santa Claus distributed gifts to children, followed by supper and the National Anthem to end the festive evening.
Poster notes 13c tins sold out but large tins now 19c. Men's and Boys' caps on sale 10c and 15c. While supplies last, big boxes at 1.3 dollars. Food Controller bars small packages after December. Stock up now.

The Halifax Relief Committee expresses deep appreciation for Foam Lake Saskatchewan’s generous Bank of Montreal contribution received by the committee. Rauru P. Bets chairs the relief effort. The item notes include a 1500 death toll in the Halifax disaster and other wartime updates.
The Homemakers Club in this district held a December 19 concert with school program dialogues solos and recitations by ratepayers. The event raised about 48 for Red Cross and was praised for the organizers and Miss Laxdal teacher who led the effort. A dance followed the program.
The regular monthly meeting of the Women's Auxiliary will be held at Mrs Albert Hallams on January 16 at 2 oclock All members will please be present. The Women's Auxiliary of St Andrew's church will hold a concert box social and dance in Hazel schoolhouse on Friday Jan 11 Concert will commence at 7 30 All are welcome.
Miss B Prowse returns from Yorkton with a friend to spend Christmas at home. Mrs Black’s brother Jack Aloff and family from Lumsden holiday at Black’s. Wegrens visit Saskatoon. Stella Brandon home from Saskatoon for Christmas. Wright visits from the West with her sister teaching near Wilkie. Helen Muir and Tansley nieces visit from Davidson for the holidays. Primary students staged a Christmas concert raising 8 for the Junior Red Cross. Red Cross event set for Friday night December 28 with Rev McCloy and Rev Letts performing. Admission 5c and 25c.
On Monday December 24 Mr Tyler of Browbury was laid to rest after a funeral at St Andrew's church where he and his family were regular attendees. The burial ground lies on church property.

Revs H Stickings and W Askey attended the service as many friends gathered to honor the deceased. The district extend sympathies to Mr Tyler and his three children in their time of bereavement.
