Siege Hopeful After Doway Fight and Dutch Talks
The dispatch describes a failed breach at a barrier during a skirmish at Doway with barricades and cannon fire. It notes prisoners taken, riders retreating, and French and Dutch movements, with references to negotiations at Gertruydenberg and a pending decision on Spain and the West Indies evacuations. It also mentions Swiss cantons lending funds and Edinburgh militia training ahead of Leven’s commissioners' inspections.
