Seizure of Lord North and Grey and naval movements in 1722

The Lord North and Grey was seized in the Isle of Wight on suspicion of heading to France without a licence. Col. Wolseley sails from Hampshire to Portsmouth to govern Barbadoes on the Lyn Man of War commanded by Capt. Elford. South Sea Company to discharge bonds and warrants after mid summer 1721, with interest ceasing after the 29th. Master Fleetwood and John Salt faced punishment at the pillory in Fleet Street. the mob toppled the device. Passage notes include pardons, horse guards quarters, and searches of noble houses as government actions unfold. Details of stock prices, burials, and Thames water undertakings appear in late entries.
