Fleet sail from St Helens as gale drives ships out of sight

The fleet weighed anchor at St Helens as a fret gale blew, Admiral Mighels signaled for failing, and by 3 pm the ships were out of sight. News adds steady N N E winds later and a brisk North East gale.
