Exchequer Bills Interest Increase Amid Public Notice
The Lords of the Treasury issue a public notice from the Royal Exchange, announcing that from the eighth of the month Exchequer Bills will bear an additional penny per diem interest, bringing total interest higher except for funds in the King's Exchequer or with receivers. The South Sea Company agrees to share the extra burden. The same notice also mentions quarantine enforcement on ships from Bordeaux and French ports, royal contingents preparing to sail, and local unrest among journeymen tailors with arrests and sentences at the Old Bailey. A stock snapshot follows with prices for South Sea Stock and other securities, plus notices of publications and local advertisements.
