Paris bishops seek papal review of Unigenitus Affair
From the Amsterdam supplement dated Dec 27 and Paris Dec 29, bishops allied to Cardinal Noailles plan to write to the Pope asking a re-examination of the Unigenitus issue, with the old letter first shown to the Duke Regent. A university harangue to the Regent lauds his governance and urges clemency and strengthening of learning. Vienna reports orders to collect arrears for empire defense, while Prussia and France maneuver over Palatinate balywys and a broader Austro-Turkish war horizon.
