Ridpath Found Guilty for Libel Against Government
London Feb 26 Ridpath found guilty of writing publishing three libels against the government in The Flying Post. The trial for July 5 1712 and other dates covered accusations about the Pretender, the Prince of Wales claim, and church matters. Jury verdict given after eight hours with sentence to be announced next Term.
