Paris News of Charles de Lorraine and French Court Drama
In Paris on February 22 a report says Prince Charles of Lorraine, great Master of the Horse, told the Duke de Noailles he must discharge part of his household due to hardship and could not maintain the Princess. The Princess chose to enter a Visitation Convent while refinements on her dowry continue, the tale noting the Prince’s motive and court gossip. The Grand Seignior's ambassador has reached Tours.
