Battle near Belgrade drives Turks from entrenchments
The narrative describes a dawn to morning assault where cavalry and infantry attacked Turkish entrenchments near the Plain and Eminence. Our forces captured 130 cannon and 30 mortars, routed Janissaries, and secured much war materiel while casualties ran high on both sides. The pursuit yielded captives and fortifications at Poft, with notable officers wounded or killed.
