Parisian factions grow over Duke du Maine’s status
The Evening Post reports increased rift between the Princes of the Blood and the legitimated line. A memorial led by Duke de Bourbon and others urges revocation of the July 1714 Edict granting the Duke du Maine and Counts de Toulouse hereditary succession and rank. They argue Parliament cannot alter a royal Edict and warn of royal authority erosion and dangerous precedence.
