Grand Victory After Siege at Peterwaradin and Segedin
The battle lasted four hours with heavy losses on both sides, 400 Russians killed or wounded including General Hauben, and Count Breuner captured. Prince Alexander of Wirtemberg arrived with Segedin troops as the Ottomans attacked, but the allied forces attacked on the fifth, breached two bridges, and compelled the Turks to retreat. The victory left the enemy's camp, artillery, and tented provisions in our hands, with 163 cannons or mortars and 152 colors seized. Breuner was beheaded in captivity.
