Mutiny Suppressed by Spanish Marines Detachment in Naples
Naples July 22 1881 report of a detachment from a Spanish Regiment of Marines marching from Manfredonia to Hungary plotting to murder officers and desert. On Troya Mountain the officers feigned rest and lured mutineers, the uprising crushed. 35 criminals confined, many executed or sent to penal forces.
