Letters From Moscow Describe Armament Movements
From the Amsterdam supplement dated May 4 and 5, reports note delays in appointing a successor to the Russian Emperor and ongoing armaments at Petersburg. Troops and Cossacks near Courland, fleets in the white sea, and a possible expedition are mentioned. Negotiations with France and Spain are unsettled, while advances in river navigation are cited from Vienna.
