A Bristol man named Mr. Biffle was seized for praying for the Pretender and preaching seditious sermons at St. George's but was rescued by parishioners. He was retaken about 30 miles away, brought to custody, and yesterday examined by a Council committee before being committed to a Messenger in Gardiners Lane. The report says he defends his conduct on conscience. News notes a death warrant reach Newgate and several stocks and burials statistics, plus various books announced for sale and distribution.
