Robbery of a Post-Boy Near Bromley Seeks 200 Pound Reward
An 18th century post-boy on the Bromley to Sevenoaks route was attacked about 2 miles from Tarn Borough between 10 and 11 PM. A young man in a drab coat rode a horse with a white face and used a pistol to seize the mail, offering a guinea as reward. The robber, who passed Pratt's Bottom and sought Croydon, carried small bags and left a list of destinations. A 200 pound reward is offered for capture and conviction, plus a general pardon for accomplices, with authorities urging vigilance and pursuit.
