A historical notice warns that many imitations of Kerfeymerey and associates leather cleaning balls harm leather and lack quality. The patentee promotes genuine balls, labeled By the King's Patent and signed by Jes. Greenwood, available at a Nasrs warehouse near Bishopsgate.
The ad promotes English and Irish State Lottery prizes paid in full the day a ticket is drawn. Hornsby and Co advertise shares in fractions, urging clubs to join to save on prizes. It lists past winnings and notes registration, with a promise of prompt payments and full prize settlement.
A London court tried Jobn Dean for forging an indorsement on a bill of exchange dated March 20, 1791, drawn on Thomas Reid by R Finman for Gol, sent from India with other drafts. The case traced letters to No 9 Castle Street Long Acre and No 8 Castle Street, Long Acre, noting Dean’s receipt and negotiation of the drafts while claiming relations in India. The Recorder framed the verdict issue for the jury.
Richard Stanniforth and William Moore faced capital charges as Post Office letter carriers accused of stealing bank bills from letters.
