Milton Esseas Boydell and Nicola announce a magnificent Milton edition aligned with the Shakespeare work. They present a specimen of the Shaksparae to show competence and inform the public of their plan to proceed, noting the delay before soliciting further attention. Published at Shakspeare Gallery Pall Mall on September 3, 1791.

The Swift brig, returning from Spain, is seized by Pietro Degole a Genoese pirate. He fights mate John Stephens and then stabs Captain Linklater. Degole tries to helm the vessel toward Genoa but is foiled by passengers and crew. The brig is towed to St Abe’s. Degole is confined in Lisbon. Captain Linklater survives and returns to the River.
A rowing boat from a man of war carrying part of the 16th regiment to Halifax overturned off Cave. Ensign Colby, nephew of Admiral Colby, and a Serjeant of the 6th drowned after captains and crew clung to the keel. Rescue efforts continue with bodies not yet recovered.
