Old Barkley Indicts Man Over Counterfeit Coins
In Old Barkley on Oct 30 John Leck faced felony charges for making and selling worn coins under their face value. A police sting at Red Lion in Concrals, led by Edward Rogers, involved five conspirators who lured Leck with marked coins. Parker bought two coins for 3s 6d and paid with a half crown and shilling later recovered from Leck.
