First Day at Old Bailey Lord Kenyon Attends Burglarious Entry Case
John Hugh stood before Lord Kenyon indicted for burglariously breaking into Edward Lascertes dwelling and stealing two shirts and other items. He was convicted of simple larceny, not burglary, and acquitted on the latter count. Sarah Crowder, once convicted highway robbery and later pardoned on condition of transportation, was sentenced to life in exile and urged by the court to seek mercy and continue her industrious life if enlarged.

Highway Robbery Trial From 1791 Record
Thomas Fowkes was tried for a highway robbery on William Duns dating back to September 11 1791. The prosecutor, a tailor, walked from Ratcliff Highway to fields near a public house where the accused knocked him down with a wand demanding money. The victim had a shilling and two pence halfpenny. the thief took two pence halfpenny and fled. The prosecutor lay insensible for half an hour and was bedridden for four months. The prisoner was not caught until July last and was found guilty.
