Parliamentary Intelligence in the House of Commons May 17
The House deferred the Slave Carrying Bill to Monday and considered land tax, armorial bearing taxation, and bills on billeting Yeomanry Cavalry and silver coinage. Reports on Ways and Means imports, spice duties, stamp duties on licenses, and shipowners relief were debated. A clause limiting action timing passed 51 to 30, and shipowners liability was examined amid further clause scrutiny.
