James Thompson alias James Carrol from Mile End Old Town, once a lawyer, served seven years on the Woolwich hulks and returned to robbing near Blackheath. James Meyrick 24, Tower Hamlets Militia veteran, joined the highwaymen and robbed Thomas Jeffop on the highway. All admitted their punishment and refused to name accomplices.
