Executions in Crown County and Thetford forgery case

Saturday last the offices for the County of Surry closed on the Crown side when Daniel Smith Simon Plunket Abraham Clark and John Smith were left for execution. Since the conviction and sentence of the above named Smith it evidently appears that he was one of the gang that robbed and murdered Mr Fryst at Illington. At the Thetford assizes John Nobbs was found guilty of forgery and ordered for execution. This is the man who with extraordinary ingenuity cut denominating words from the bank note and substituted others of greater value in their place.
