A 18th century parliamentary report notes the Royal assent to public and private bills, a Journal printing request, and a Scotland Militia bill. It records Lord Auckland memorial debates, caustic discourse on Lord Auckland, Milton, Charles II, and attacks on France, ending with a vote on censure and adjournment.
The Commons heard that Lords had agreed to Rodney's Annuity and other Bills, with the Newfoundland Report also ordered for printing. In the Lords, assent was given to public and private Bills including Lottery and Distillery, while treaties with Russia and Sardinia were laid on the table. Fees of Office were discussed, with a motion to print the committee report adjusted to omit the bulky appendix, and monuments to Rodney and Elliot were approved. An address was proposed to reward Mr Mudge for a timepiece mechanism. Mr Fox spoke on War with France, urging a measured stance and unity, defending past actions but cautioning against continuing a war merely for indemnity once objectives were achieved.
The Court of Directors of the United Company of Merchants of England trading to the East Indies announces a planned capital raise of one million pounds. Subscriptions offered at two shillings per pound, with discounts for early full payment, and preferring existing proprietors.
