An advertisement extols the Cardial Balm of Gilead as a complete cure for debility and nervous issues. It claims efficacy for health restoration, notes sales in Strand London and Browlow Street Liverpool, and mentions a consultation fee of half a guinea with the vendor offering free samples.
In a London Guildhall law report the jury, under the judge's direction, concluded that Premant the common carrier had a lien for his general balance on goods in his possession. The special jury of merchants considered the question and returned a verdict supporting the lien.
