Advises lottery clubs to note immediate prize division and compares favorable terms to other promoters.
In a notable 18th century court scene Lord George Gordon argued from scripture that Jews do not remove hats as a sign of reverence. He claimed his head covering in court was religiously motivated and sought leniency by offering to pay a fine and post a recognizance for good behavior. The judge and attorney general questioned the propriety, and bail was refused as insufficient as Gordon remained in custody awaiting sentence.
