The town clerk records a formal affirmation by the mayor and others of their loyalty to His Majesty and the present Constitution. The document reflects duties, piety, happiness, and reverence for the king, with expressions of support for established authority.
A Norwich gathering at the Maid's Head in St Swithin's endorsed a public declaration supporting a Constitution for the Kingdom. City merchants, mayors, and ward committees formed to circulate the declaration. notices of publication were planned in several local papers.
Dressed high and wide Labres-Harry and caes featured fattin blond hair, heathers, and feather plumes. Ladies wore emblems and necklaces while illuminations brightened venues like White's and Gouldznab's. Mansion House glowed with a wreath of lamps. Lord Cavatenay led splendid equipage with gilded liveries and embroidered flags.
