In this 1792 letter, the writer argues for monarchy and noble privilege against the French revolutionary dream of equality. He asserts that Britain’s social order, with kings, nobles, and Parliament, sustains dignity, prosperity, and national strength, while condemning radical republicanism as demagogic and ruinous. He warns that abolition of ranks would collapse industry and honor, urging continued loyalty to the constitutional balance.
At Bow Street Fridday William Welchman William Wright Tomas Tait and Mary Vernon were charged on suspicion of coining and presenting false money. A patrole in Palace Yard stopped a man with a box bound for Mr Vernon in Royal Row Lambeth and with help followed suspects to the house where a large quantity of silver and coin making tools were found. Vernon escaped as officers moved to place them in a coach. the four prisoners were committed for re examination.
