Describing the New Custom-House Dublin Plan and Ornament
The plan centers on a large main building with side courts and stone flank walls, offering convenient access for officers. It showcases four façades, a south-facing portico with Doric columns, and a decorated pediment featuring Britannia and Hibernia. Statues by Carzini and Smith, a colossal Commerce figure, and Ireland’s arms atop an attic create a grand civic facade using Portland stone and local granite.

An old essay discusses Engraftment of animal parts into other bodies. It recalls Mr. Cribbs, operator and anatomical lecturer at St. Thomas's Hospital, who attempted to transplant a cock’s comb into its head before the tissue died.
