Paragraphs read provoke debate on Irish Parliament dignity
In the House of Commons Mr O’Donnell attacked libellous London reports about the Irish Parliament and the Speaker’s conduct. He read portions from the Sex newspaper alleging disorder during the Union debate. The House approved a resolution declaring the paragraphs false and insulting, and the Speaker was thanked for his conduct. A committee was ordered to consider education of the lower orders and a report on public school funds. The session adjourned after approving a supply to the Crown.
