Privilege Breach Case In Dublin House Of Commons

Major Swan testified that Brocas and others were linked to a mob that pelted the Members carriage near College Green. He described Brocas picking and throwing a stone then drawing a pistol as waiters fired. Brocas admitted the incident and claimed misidentification. The House found Brocas guilty of a high breach of privilege and ordered his committal to Newgate. A large petition from Armagh and another county petition were presented for the Table.
