It includes notes on tolerable cures, imperial endorsements, and a long list of agents, plus a local court record about bread protests and a Carlow execution.
Mr Selby testifies about the London fish trade since 1750. He details shifts in transport from Salmon by horseback to cart, then water in ice, and notes acts restricting sale time to eight days. A trial on Friday centered on an assault and false imprisonment, where plaintiff Joseph Gillespie won judgment for 7501 damages against General Campbell and two York Fencible Infantry officers after a lengthy hearing. Also noted is a river tale of a Hairy Wild Man brought from the South Sea Whaler, described as a powerful being causing a near-fatal incident with a customs officer, but the man escaped unharmed.
