John Henderson a smith was tried for murder or cruelty to his wife and child. Verdict found culpable homicide for the husband and he was sentenced to whipping and transportation for 14 years. John Bell, Andrew Bell, and W. Renswick of Hamilton were accused of rape. the diet was deserred for more evidence and they were recommitted to prison.
