British and Prussian Moves in France and Rhine Front

Merchants discussed public credit with Mr Pitt

Public credit concerns were raised in several conferences with Mr Pitt. Sir James Murray is named Adjutant General and Corresponding Secretary to the Duke of York and will depart tomorrow for the Continent. Mr Palmer, formerly of the Post Office, is granted a life pension of 3000 pounds annually for his public services and retires.

Tranquillity and political shakeups in the Low Countries

Dumourier defends his actions and aims at liberty

General Dumourier recounts his Revolutionary career defending liberty and the French nation. He claims he saved parts of the army, fought Prussians in Belgium, and denounces the Convention and Marat while detailing accusations of corruption and disloyalty by political rivals.

Dumourier address to army after arresting commissioners

General Dumourier declares he has detained four commissioners and a minister to Paris as hostages. He urges the army to purge France of assassins, restore a contested Constitution, and vows to live and die free under lawful government. He signs as General in Chief near St. Amand on April 1, 1793, at eleven o'clock at night.
