Estevan Hall Crowd Helps War Effort at Wilfred Fitzpatrick Party

A large Estevan town hall crowd joined the Wilfred Fitzpatrick chapter of the EUD for a birthday fundraiser as locals manned stalls, a palmistry booth, and a doll's house draw. A returned Somme veteran was welcomed home and given support, while a widow received aid for travel costs to Snowflake.

The Canadian Red Cross asks Estevan women to sew Socks Balaclava helmets Mufflers and wristlets for soldiers. The 1.C.D.E. rooms are open Mondays for workers to obtain supplies and information from Mrs McKay's circle members.

Estevan youth hero faces soon return to firing line

The report profiles Sergeant James Mossop, a 21-year-old Estevan native now in England with early service in the 4th Battalion after enlisting in 1914. He helped raise a local platoon, trained in Camp Hughes, and saw over eighteen months in trenches, remaining optimistic about the war’s outcome. Local Talent Concert Thrills Hall Crowd Friday Evening

A full house enjoyed a village show featuring a drill, humorous sketches, tableaux including John Bull and Somewhere in France, music by Mr. Logan and reading by Mr. McGrath. The event, directed by Mrs. Bannatyne and Mrs. Newcombe, closed with a late dance and a birthday party fundraising total.
