Manchester Historical Society Hears Itennington Museum CuratorMANCHESTER — Carl W. Keatsch was re-elected president of the Manchester HistoricalSociety Wednesday night at the society's annual meeting at the Mark Skinner Library.Elected with Keatsch, who w as also named treasurer, were Hubbell Lathrop, first vice president and secretary; Stanley B. She will be living with her brother and his wife and family who are also spending the winter in Paris while he isGuest speaker at the meeting was James Mitchell, assistant curator of the Bennington Museum, who spoke on lost treasures of historical value and displayed a number of unusual antique objects, asking members If they could Identify the object’s Intended use.Mrs. Reed presented the society with copies of the certification papers of Thaddeus Munson, her great - great - grandfather, as a captain In the Vermont militia. Munson was an officer In the Revolutionary War and took part In the building ofthe old Equinox House in 1801. She also gave the society a copy of militia commissioning papers of Anson Munson, Thaddeus’son. Anson was commissioned in 1826.In addition, Mrs. Reed presented the original copy of the list of subscribers to the Bennington County Court House In Manchester Village. The list Is signed by Thaddeus Munson. The three documents will be placed on display In the society’s room at the library.
