Struck by Lightning and Liven.Poutland, Me., Oct. 9.—Captain George Wallace of the schooner General Walsh, while gunning in Lower Casco bay, was struck by lightning. He was rendered unconscious for several hours by a thunder bolt and drifted about the bay in a heavy sea at the mercy of wind and waves, and was 48 hours without food and water, being unable to lift a hand to save himself from destruction. He was finally rescued by a passing vessel, and may recover.
