NATHAN S. JACOBSON, president, gained world renown as one of the founders of Caesars Palace. He became President of Caesars in 1966 and assumed chairmanship of the board in 1967. A native of Baltimore, Md., he has also served as board chairman of Time Finance Co., and has also been a director of the National Bas ketball Association. Mr. Jacobson received his B.S. degree from the University of Baltimore in Busi ness Administration in 1935. He joined his father in the insurance business with the Jacobson Agency which has now been in continual success ful operation for over 60 years. Mr. Jacobson’s sons, now his partners in the insurance agency, are carrying on the family tradition. He has served and fed many civic and communal activities, among them was Commissioner of the Baltimore Civic Center. Mr. Jacobson currently serves as Chairman of the Strip Beautification Commission in Las Vegas. LEWIS G. KURTZ, Executive Vice Presi dent, is another well-known “alumnus” of Caesars Palace. Mr. Kurtz, since 1966, was controller and assistant treasurer of the hotel. A graduate of Temple University with a B.S. in Accounting, he was an All American basketball player and lettered in five sports in college. He is presently an instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he teaches courses in casino operation and management, hotel data processing and hotel real estate. He brings 15 years of hotel and casino experience to what he terms as “the finest executive team ever assembled.” JESS MARCUM, Vice President and Direc tor of Casino Operations, is a nationally known mathematical analyst. Since 1947, he has been associated with Rand Corporation in Santa Monica, Calif., one of America’s most highly respected ‘‘think tanks.” Mr. Marcum, a graduate of Tennessee Uni versity with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, has authored several basic mathematical papers. He is also a registered investment advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Jess can take out his slide rule and compute the “odds”...on anything. ARTIE SELMAN, food and beverage direc tor, has applied his talents to many of the major Strip hotel gourmet dining rooms, as well as Chandler’s and the Copacabana in New York. In 1961, he opened the Sultan’s Table at the Dunes. Two years later, he joined the Sahara's House of Lords, and in 1966 be came manager of the Regency Room at the Sands. HOWARD LEVIN, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD of Directors brings a broad spectrum of management expertise to the BONANZA HOTEL. He founded the Levin-Townsend Computer Corporation in 1961 and is its President and Chief Executive Offi cer. Prior to that, he served in a management capacity or consultant to several highly respected US companies. Mr. Levin, who received his B.S. from the Uni versity of Chicago, is both a teacher and an author (OFFICE WORK AND AUTOMATION, 1956) and accom plished mathematician. But most importantly, he knows and respects people. He was a major con tributor to the management policy of friendliness and hospitality at the Bonanza Hotel. Though New York is Mr. Levin’s home, where he resides with his wife Enid and two lovely daugh ters, he spends much of his time in Las Vegas both at the Hotel and the Bonanza Country Club over seeing the “cordially factor” in both operations. KIRBY STONE, Entertainment Director,s one of the most versatile well-known musi cians in America. He organized the highly successful Kirby Stone Four. And he led this innovative musical group for 20 years. Mr. Stone has also adapted Broadway show tunes for pop records. And he was talent consult ant, musical director and featured performer on the popular “Broadway Open House” show.
