Observations and Counsel of an Old Man.Today, February 25, as 1 pass the I H.'Jrd mile po9t of a checkered and! eventful life and being con lined to my room with la grippe, busy thoughts come to me of events that have occurred during those years that arelpast. It is wonderful to review the changes that have come in all lines and departments of numan activity and energy.Among my earliest recollections are those of iuy sainted mother cooking breakfast over a wood tire with pots and skillets by the light of a “frog lamp,” which hung from the wall, the dipped and moulded candles, later supplanted by the oil lamp, later by gas for lighting and heating and latest electricity, now
