UOC AW4MOUU a I1IUVVU..Anna Belle arrived today. Maybe j we’ve misnamed Anna Belle, but nevertheless Anna Bell arrived safely. Anna Belle is an alligator and came all the way from Florida to make her ! home in Atchison. She’s a cute little trick and is already the pet of the zoo j at Jackson park. Anna Belle was sent' to Atchison by Charles E. Stonecipher j of St. Petersburg, Fla., who formerly, lived at Cummings. Mr. Stonecipher made a present of Anna Belle to George Edwards and the Elks club. However, Mr. Edwards knows nothing! about alligators and the other Elks; know less, so Anna Belle was turned over to the city for the zoo. Laverne Stucker, attendant at Jackson park, has taken charge of Anna Belle, and knowing all about alligators, says she; is 16 years old. Anna Belle is about three feet long and has a very beautiful set of teeth and evidently is proud of her teeth as she was continually showing them when interviewed by a Globe reporter. We re glad to have Anna Belle in Atchison and! hope she likes her new home. She will not be lonesome at the zoo, which is also the home of a couple of other alligators.
