WJW fires ArmstrongRadio personality Tom Armstrong has been “let go” from Cleveland’s WJW Radio as the station moves from a music format to that of a news-talk station.Armstrong had handled the '610 a.rq. time slot. He will be replaced by 15 minutes of news on the hour and half-hour, with Jeff Baxter the disc jockey handling the remaining 30 minutes of music. The WJW Radio switch is part of a national trend by AM radio stations to switching to the news-talk format, leaving music to the PM-f requency stations.
