Abrahamson presents vocal recitalCurtis Abrahamson, tenor, presented a graduate vocal recital at 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, in the Colton recital hall of the Warren M. Lee Center for the fine arts., He was accompanied by Jack Noble, professor of piano, organ and theory at USD.A student of Kathleen Weber, Abrahamson will be graduating July 31 with a master of music degree in music literature. Since receiving his B.F.A. degree from USD in 1969, he has taught vocal music at the Canton public schools and at Central Lion community schools of Rock Rapids, la. During the past year, he has taught voice and assisted with choral organizations at USD as a graduate assistant. Next year, he will be teaching vocal music at Brookings high school.Abrahamson is a member of Phi Mus Alpha Sinfonia, professional honorary music fraternity, the American choral directors’ association, and the Music Educators' National Congress.Abrahamson is married to the former Janene Mollet of Alcester and the couple have two children, Tim, 10, andTom, 6. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Abrahamson of Akron, la.As a part of the recital, Abrahamson1 applyed ornamentation to two selections in the style of Italian Baroque practice of embellishment.
