A party of young: women were sliding down the chute, and a large woman, weighing some 230 pounds, was urged to take a trip, but refused until dared to do so. Summoning up courage she seated .herself in position and started. Manager Bryant, fearing the woman would receive injury, hastily summoned Special Officer Putney and a young man whom he stationed at the bottom to catch her when she should reach the terminus. She arrived all right, like an avalanche, and the two men, instead of checking her, were both pinned to the ground amid the shouts of the assembled crowd.
