Turkey Gross Noted Baseball Figure Is Buried In MesquiteMr, and Mrs. Roy Law returned last week end from Mesquite near Dallas where they attended the funeral of Turkey Gross, famed Texas baseball star and one time manager of the Dallas Steers,; Mrs. Gross was the former Miss | Novella Brown and a step sister of Mrs. Law. She graduated in Gamer-on in I924.! Mr. Gross died in St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas. He was 40 years of age. He retired from baseball in 1927 and jentered the drug business in Mesquite. He was a member of the board ■ of Aldermen in Mesquite and also on (the Board of Stewards of the Metho-j dist church. His name had long been a part of sports in Texas.
