News items of interest from Cass LakeMrs. Thelma McGuire ( ass Lake reporter Mrs. Irene Schaak became a grandmother for the second time on Sunday, Jan. 5 when Mr and Mrs John Wolbeck of Thief River Falls became theparents of a baby girl, weighing 7 pounds 134 ounces She has a sister. Heather Ann, three years old.Mrs. C’al McGuire received word this week of the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. LucilleTHE LOCKHORNSSchaak of Corus Christi, Texas. The Schaak family were former residents of Cass l-ake and in the early days will be remembered for building the first overnight accomodations here The place was called The Circle Court Cabins These had facilities for light housekeeping as well The famous Red Rooster Night Club was also ow ned by the family. Neither are here now. Mr. Schaak died a few years ago and his wife will be buried here at the Frohn Eastside Cemetery by Herb They had three sons* and a daughter
