EVE ATTRACTIONTo Be Featured at “Show ofthe Week”Omitting its performances next I Sunday. “Show of the Week” will resume at the County Center on the following Sunday afternoon evening, December 31, with three shows which the management promises will be cached with all the gavety and festivity of New Year’s Eve.‘'Show of the Week” will literally “swing” from the Old Year into the New with the music of Gene Krupa and his famous swing band; : plus the sweet strains of Lennie Hay ton and his orchestra. Plans now are being made to continue j “Show of the Week’’ into the 1940 | season with more name bands and , stage revues on successive Sundays j at White Plains. !iiNearly SMO modern music fans packed the Center’s auditorium in the two performances last Sunday, to applaud, whistle and shcut their approval of the offerings of the “world’s greatest saxophonist”.; Jimmy Dorsey and his orchestra, and .Mai Hallet and his hand. ;t'Reservations already arc coming in heavily to the Center box office for the December 31 performance. Jack Brown, the Center manager, reports. Equal popularity is shared : by the matinee, set for 3 o’clock : in the afternoon and attracting the young element and their parents, and the two evening shows at 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. Adding to the demand is the announcement of the management that there will be no advance in the popular prices which prevail. Many a Westchesterite is planing either to while awav the early evening hours at the 7:30 show, or see the'New Year in at the midnight performance starting at 11:30.Gene Krupa and his orchestra will play the post-intermission solo spot, while Lennie Hay ton and his orchestra will accompany the stage revue and have a featured act on that first portion of the program. A popular master-of-eeremonies is •engaged for the special holiday all-star stage revue.Featured with Krupa's band will be Irene Dave, while Krupa himself will hold the spotlight with his inimitable drumming speciality. Hay ton. who is equally a composer, arranger, conductor and pianist, will be heard in piano specialties, and will feature his attractive vocalist. Linda Keene. All three shows will be identical in their offerings, the management states.
