Taylor Wins Government Shoot at Rifle Range
At Rifle Range nine members attended the season finale last Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Taylor led after 500 yards and surpassed Mr. Wheeler to win the silver plate for the highest grand aggregate, earning second prize gold as well. Mr. Bell took first, with Mr. Wheeler third. A department rule banning special peep sights in open range competitions may affect prize awards since Taylor and Bell used them while Wheeler used department sights.

Fire set by ashes from camp stove dismissed in court
In the police court Magistrate Roseman found N L Morris not guilty of arson under the Fires Act after evidence from Constable Price Wahy A M Baird and J McKay showed the fire was accidental from camp stove ashes and not out of control. The case was dismissed.
